The Latin School, Moyne

It is noteworthy to mention that the latin school was in existence when Frank Duff started the Legion in 1921. He had been in contact with Bishop McNamee before Canon Masterson started a Praesidia in 1932 at Mohill where it spread to Carrrick on shannon Co Leitrim where it has had an unbroken presence since. Here in Leitrim we celebrated last night this fact and we rembered among others Bishop Moynagh a past pupil who worked closely with edel Quinn in Arica. I remember meeting him at his home and talking to him about the legion unaware that we were past pupils of st marys apostolic school moyne. do you remember that ? I have some where my leaving cert results with that insignia printed on it.more valued than the actual results of the said questionable scholar. Alas apart from the great sean o suilleabhain I seem to be the only scribe on board.
